Likely the most important aspect of being in the Authors Collective at Sea Dream Press is about supporting each other to share our stories, words, philosophies and artwork, and in a natural setting.
Judy E Jack began building her biodiversity garden in Bittern roughly five years ago, which surprises me because what she has created is, no less, phenomenal! Judy’s reason for doing what she does, she wanted to give back to nature. Soon after I met and began working with Judy she spoke of plans to create a fairy garden for the children in her neighbourhood - especially on her street - so that’s what we did.
It made sense that children’s author, Patricia Freeman and her series of books, Tarween Fairy Tales was the perfect match for Judy’s biodiversity garden, where Pat could read to the children in Judy’s neighbourhood. The school holidays was the opportune time to bring the children in Judy’s community together.

The sun shone… to begin with…
…and then a few sprinkles turned into a light shower. As one of the grandmother’s said, ‘The rain wanted to join in the fun!’ And fun it was; the children listening to Pat read book 1, The Tarween River Fairies, showcase her artwork and share the characters adventures caring for local wildlife, was well-received… and when asked if they’d like to attend for another storytelling session, it was a resounding nod of the head and YES please!
Even Judy’s dog, Astro loved being read to!
What a joy it is for a community to unite. Thank you sincerely to Substack reader and author, Mr Miller who donated a year’s subscription for this event to take place. We, the Authors at Sea Dream Press, look forward to sharing further events where inspired creation meets with open hearts to receive, anchored in nature’s wonderland.
